Five Romanian designers were selected for this edition of Artistar Jewels Exhibition 2017, taking place at Palazzo dei Giureconsulti during Milano Fashion Week. With a total of 138 international artists and 352 creations, Artistar’s forth edition was an important event for all contemporary jewelry designers and lovers from all around the world.
Andreia Gabriela Popescu, Alina Simion, Mariana Rogoz, Mona Velciov and Rada Ureche presented selections of their new collections and made a strong statement of the emerging field of contemporary jewelry in Romania. And, as they are all part of the Assamblage Community, we couldn’t be more proud.
We asked them how the experience of participating at Artistar was for them :)
Andreia Gabriela Popescu started the collaboration with Artistar Jewels Milano from 2014, when she was selected as the first Romanian designer and had two pieces from the “Nipone” Collection presented in the 2015 catalogue. In 2016, year in which Artistar was part of Homi Fiesta Milano, Andreia had four gold pieces from “Sakura” Collection showcased as the only Romanian participation. In 2017, for her third participation, she was selected with the “Walls of Civilization” Collection, first exposed as part of FOUND.LOST.FOUND project.
“My collaboration with Artistar along the years turned out to be an extraordinary advantage regarding international visibility and promotion, with long-term benefits.”
